2018 Opportunity Quilt – “Licorice and Lace”
The center of this quilt is made from the “Quatro Colour” pattern designed by Sue Daley and used with her permission. Jan Hutchison designed the applique borders which make this quilt bed sized at 87×87”. It took forty Prairie Quilt Guild members to complete the 100 English paper pieced blocks and the 20 applique border blocks.

“Licorice and Lace” won the Grand Champion ribbon at the 2017 Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson.
On Thursday, September 14, 2017, Lt. Governor Jeff Colyer presented the Grand Champion ribbon to Nancy Staton and Mayleen Vinson who were representing the Opportunity Quilt Committee. Forty guild members worked on this beautiful quilt patterned by Sue Daley, borders, designed by Jan Hutchison. Congratulations to everyone who worked on the quilt!
