Heart of Kansas Quilt Guild

The Heart of Kansas Quilt Guild is an active guild, which meets monthly, with approximately 90 members who love to quilt. Our meetings are at the Delos Smith Center (1st and Washington Street) on Mondays at 9:00 – 9:30 a.m. for socializing and a business meeting at 9:30, followed by “show and share,” and a program that features a well-known or very experienced quilting speaker. New members are welcome!  Guests may attend two meetings free before joining.

Each year our guild makes several projects for community charities. Our guild has made pillow cases, quilts, walker bags, backpacks and port pillows to donate to the community’s Cancer Council, hospital, shelter home, and others in need of care.  In addition, the guild has sponsored the Nickerson High School’s Quilting Classes with quilting supplies and cash for fabric.  Also, we have small groups, which enjoy getting together to quilt their personal projects or community projects.  This summer will conduct our own Third Annual Quilt Retreat, which will be in Hutchinson.

We send a monthly newsletter to all the members and advertisers. The cost of an annual membership is $20. Members wear a personally designed quilted name tag and may attach the guild’s pin to it. The name tag makes one eligible for drawings at each meeting.  Please contact Jennalee Boggs (620-665-0082 or cell at 620-694-7431) for information about our next meeting.
